“They are always saying the Missouri State Fair is for everybody, so why are they taking our auto races away from us? Or they aren’t even listing it this year? I would like to know why.”
There are angels in Sedalia. I am 82. Most young adults give respect to older folks. At Lowes, a young boy carried my bag of dirt to the car, opened my trunk and lifted it in for me. Also, I was vacuuming my car and decided I might wash it and a young gentleman on a yellow Harley-Davidson motorcycle came up and said ‘I will wash your car.’ That means so much and I just wanted to thank those two gentlemen.
“The people in Sedalia who make $50,000 and up each year must understand that those who only make $24,000 at a factory job can not afford a $9 breakfast.”
“ The first academic alum honorees have all their pictures in the showcases at the original Smith-Cotton High School. Will they be put in the new high school? And I mean the original honorees.”
“There are flag poles at the north and south entrances to Crown Hill Cemetery. The American flag should be displayed at both locations.”
“I thought it was against the law to throw your grass clippings in the streets. Take a trip down 16th Street by the fairgrounds and the sidewalks are covered in grass and it is four or five feet into the street. It really looks bad. “
“Mr. Strauss had a well written letter in Tuesday’s paper. Putting aside whether second-hand smoke kills or not there is also the issue with his smoke causing sinus or breathing problems when you have someone infringing on your airspace and you cant leave for whatever reason. I used to smoke but was very conscious of others around me who chose not to want to enjoy my bad habit also. He speaks of government involvement and we do have lots of that. I say put this to a vote and let the people speak as they have in so many other towns.”
• The people of Sedalia and the people of Ward 4 will be tired of their new council member before his term is up.
