Last of the Spad drivers
Billy Simpkins, of Warsaw, flew the Skyraider Model AD-5W. The folded wings helped make room for all of the planes aboard the carrier. Simpkins' name is painted beneath the cockpit. He made 100 landings on the USS Ticonderoga.
