Smith-Cotton High School junior Alexandria Stewart was surprised by a visit from Navy Fleet Reserve Officer John Bush, who presented her with the first-place award in the Fleet Reserve Association’s annual essay contest. This year’s topic was “What My Vote Means To Me,” and Bush praised Stewart’s entry for its technical excellence and “the enthusiasm of her writing.” Stewart is a cadet major in S-C’s JROTC program.
