S-C music students compete in Columbia

Smith-Cotton High School competed in the MSHSAA State Music Solo and Small Ensemble contest April 25 in Columbia.

Students who received a “I” rating were Caroline Decker, flute; Grant Waters, tenor saxophone; Tim Decker, bassoon; Madison and Maggie Beard, violin duet; and Maggie Beard, piano.

Students who received a “II” rating were Andrew Halsell, trumpet; Carter Noble, tuba; and Carter Noble, Jason Young, Andrew Halsell and Noah Shepard, low brass quartet.  

Students who received a “III” rating were Caleb Henderson, trombone; and Courtney Cooper, euphonium.
