S-C students attend band, orchestra festival
The 2013 Midwest Honor Band and Orchestra Festival was Feb. 15 through 17 at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance. This was the first year a group of orchestra students were invited to attend.
Attendees from Smith-Cotton were Kirsten Finnell, violin, right; Nancy Wester, viola, left; and Carter Noble, tuba, not pictured.
These students were nominated by their band director, and could attend by invitation only.
The guest conductor in the photo is Jeffrey Grogan, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Education and Community Engagement Conductor.
