The La Monte Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Chapter hosted a Traffic Safety Awareness Day at their school on Oct. 5.
The Highway Patrol presented the video “Permanent.” Seventh through 12th-graders witnessed a mock accident. All of the emergency personnel were represented and responded to the accident as if it were real.
Students then competed in a quick click challenge. The goal was to see which team could buckle up their seat belts the fastest. The day concluded with an assembly planned by the FCCLA member focused on the dangers of texting and driving.
