Christian Dockery has been nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine this coming summer.
The National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine introduces outstanding high school students to the world of medicine and to the various careers available in the medical field. Through behind-the-scenes visits and shadowing physicians making rounds in some of the nation’s most prestigious and technologically-advanced hospitals and medical schools, students make connections with medical professionals, discover how medical students learn through “problem based learning” exercises, gain hands-on experience checking vital signs such as blood pressure, learn how to suture and also view surgery.
Students discover medical specialties and primary care with current physicians and patients, explore what life will be like as a resident and discuss responses to epidemics and threats to public health.
Christian is a junior at Warsaw High School and was nominated by his science teacher, David See. He plans to become a pediatrician.
Christian is the son of Kevin Dockery and Susan Dockery.
