The Northwest Pettis County RV School district held its first FFA awards banquet on April 21 in the school cafeteria with 83 members and guests present.
The officers for 2010-11 were Blair Bennett, president; Terry Gerke, vice president; Taylor Slaughter, secretary; Morgann Gregory, treasurer; Shaina Chamberlin, reporter; and Jordann Gregory, sentinel.
The new officers for the 2011-12 school year who were installed were Shaina Chamberlin, president; Shiana Meyer, vice president; Lindsey Young, secretary; Trey Green, treasurer; Samantha Unkel, reporter; Walter Nicholson, sentinel; and Truman Leicher, chaplain.
Awards were presented to members who recently participated in the Career Development Education Events in Warrensburg.
They went to Shaina Chamberlin and Wally Nicholson, agronomy; Blair Bennett, David Kusgen, Terry Gerke, Daniel Formazan, ag sales; Jessica Young, Cherokee Hill, Ashley Henderson, creed speaking; Cameron Bales, Connor Overton, Megan Oberle, entomology; Lindsey Young, Morgann Gregory, Madison Harding, floriculture; Chance Hutchison, Brad Unkel, Dylan Lynde, forestry; Christina Thompson, Shiana Meyer, Taylor Slaughter, livestock judging; Zach Hopkins, Sam Pettis, Jordann Gregory, and David Lopez, meats.
Other recognition went to Morgann Gregory, State FFA Choir; David Kusgen, Michael Thompson, Blake Underwood, Terry Gerke, Wally Nicholson and Zac Hopkins, trap shooting; and Shiana Meyer, top fundraiser.
Proficiency honors went to Blair Bennett, ag business placement; David Kusgen, ag mechanics placement; Taylor Slaughter, outdoor recreation; and Terry Gerke, ag technologies.
Nita Bales was thanked for sponsoring the FFA bowling trip to Jesterís in Lincoln earlier in the year.
