MA2 Holly Diaz, who grew up in Sedalia and graduated from Smith-Cotton High School, will carry the Navy flag as part of the color guard Sunday during the Super Bowl in New Orleans, where she serves as a Navy recruiter.

Nathan Woolery
Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Nathan Woolery, a Sedalia native, monitors a radar in the combat information center of the USS Curts. The frigate is currently on patrol in the Eastern Pacific near the Colombia-Panama border in support of Operation Martillo, a 14-nation operation to stem the flow of cocaine from South America to the United States. Woolery and his shipmates have been involved in two drug interdictions since they deployed in June.
