Approximately 100 Sedalians came out to support Ron Ditzfeld and Rick Yeager Friday evening at Fitter’s 5th Street Pub in downtown Sedalia, as they prep to leave for the 2014 Fireball Run event that fosters awareness of missing children.Sedalia Convention and Visitors Bureau Director of Marketing Carolyn Crooker said she was pleased with the turn out Friday, which included Sedalia Mayor Stephen Galliher, former Mayor Elaine Horn, Pettis County Presiding Commissioner John Meehan and many others.Both men are life long Sedalia residents with Ditzfeld being the president of Ditzfeld Transfer Inc. and Yeager retired from the his family owned business, Yeager’s Cycles and Sales.

The Smith-Cotton soccer team went 3-0 at the Capital City Classic.After a 2-1 win over Ray-Pec on Friday, the Tigers beat Joplin 2-1 on Saturday with goals from Jordan Lawson and Carlos Aguirre.The Tigers beat Helias 3-0 in the final. Juvenile court proving successful

It’s been about eight months since the Pettis County Juvenile Drug Court began, and so far officials said they are pleased with how the juveniles involved have responded to the program.The program began in January as a partnership between the Pettis County Juvenile Office, Pathways Behavioral Health and the Sedalia School District 200.
