Volunteers to hand out books for World Book Night U.S. on Monday

Sedalia Book and Toy manager Laura Brown, left, and customer Toby Dorr unpack free copies of the 1998 Barbara Kingslover bestseller “The Poisonwood Bible” at the bookstore on Wednesday. The store is serving as a distribution site for World Book Night U.S., set for Monday, part of a nationwide effort to promote literacy by handing out some 500,000 free books in 6,000 cities.
