Cal Poly Pomona 3, Central Missouri 0

Peter Bayer struck out a season-high 14 batters and held the Mules to one hit in Central Missouri’s final elimination game at the D-II College World Series in Cary, North Carolina.

Central Missouri’s Carlos D’Armas allowed one run on five hits in seven innings. Lucas Williams surrendered a 2-run double in the eighth to Nic Hernandez.

Bayer was relieved by Ryan Alsworth after 129 pitches. Alsworth struck out two UCM batters on the save.

Central Missouri finishes their season 43-15.


Blue Springs 9, Sedalia Travelers 1

Sedalia Travelers 8, Blue Springs 1

The Sedalia Travelers Post 642 opened their season against the Blue Springs A’s on Tuesday, splitting a doubleheader. Their next competition is a tournament June 4-5 in the Jimmy Glenn Tournament at Liberty Park. Sedalia’s earliest first game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
