Lincoln football improved to 2-0 after a 48-0 road victory Friday, Aug. 26, over Wentworth Military Academy.
Boone Kroenke passed for 65 yards and three touchdowns. Trevor Kroenke, Connor Spunaugle and Blake Robert received the scores.
Roberts also scored a rushing touchdown. Derek Stephens added a another.
Both Lincoln wins this season were called at halftime due to inclement weather. As such, the Cardinals have played four quarters total in two weeks.
The Cardinals, coming off an 11-1 season in 2015, conclude a three-game road stretch at Osceola on Friday, Sept. 2.
Sacred Heart football seeking first win
Gremlins football lost its first home game and fell to 0-2 on the season Saturday after a 48-32 loss to Greenfield.
Sacred Heart is not scheduled to play again until Friday, Sept. 9, hosting Norborne with Hardin-Central.
Orrick 50, Concordia 12
The Concordia Orioles fell 50-12 at Orrick on Friday, Aug. 26.
Concordia scored twice on a Wade Heimsoth 73-yard rushing touchdown and a passing TD from Tate Bittiker to Cameron Kelly.

Lincoln opens season with two close losses
Lady Cardinals volleyball have lost two matches to start the season, both in three sets.
Tuesday, Aug. 23, Appleton City won two straight sets to defeat the Lady Cardinals 25-20, 16-25, 19-25.
Skyline defeated Lincoln, hosting its first home match, after three sets that went over 25. Lincoln fell 25-27, 28-26, 30-28 Thursday, Aug. 25.
Sturgeon 4, Pilot Grove 2
Pilot Grove lost its season opener on the road after a two-run Sturgeon sixth inning.
Brady Rentel, who took the loss, struck out 13 batters in five and 2/3 innings.

S-C places third at Platte County Invitational
The Smith-Cotton boys swimming team started its season with a third place team finish Saturday at the Platte County Invitational.
The Tigers’ Jeremy Acosta took first place in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:00.27. He also was second in the 100-yard butterfly. S-C swept the 1-meter diving competition, with Felix Sultanov taking first place, followed by Peyton Camirand then Isaiah McNeil.
Joshua Osorio was third in the 200-yard individual medley. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Sultanov, Andriy Usyk, Tim Spear, Mike Husyev was fourth, and the 200-year freestyle relay of Sultanov, Acosta, Joshua Osorio and Mitchell Lake was fifth.
Raytown won the meet, with Platte County High finishing second.
Smith-Cotton Head Coach Jerry Tankersley said, “The boys did great today. The divers really came through, and the team had 21 personal bests out of 29 races.”
The Tigers will host Warrensburg, Rock Bridge and Battle starting at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Arbisi pool at Sedalia Middle School.
