The Smith-Cotton girls swimming and diving team went 5-3 in a meet at Winnetonka on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers beat Barstow, Truman, Harrisonville, Van Horn and William Chrisman. S-C fell to Belton, Winnetonka and Pembroke Hill.
Makenna Steger, Rachael Meyer, Valentyna Usyk and Mariah Turner teamed up to take third in the medley relay with a time of 2:23.42. S-C’s Autumn Proffitt, Mariah Voitl, Sarah Skrzypczak and Tricia Myers took 10th and Samantha Elvers, Fatima Vasquez, Madeson Provance and Kayla Marlatt took 15th.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Turner, Meyer, Skrzypczak and Usyk took third.
Turner took second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:58.90. She also was fourth in the 200 freestyle in 2:40.15.
Steger and Meyer were fourth and fifth in the individual medley. Meyer was eighth in the breaststroke.
Skrzypczak was seventh in the butterfly.
El Dorado Springs 65, Warsaw 60
The Warsaw Wildcats fell to El Dorado Springs 65-60 on Tuesday.
Matt Liebert led the Wildcats with 20 points. Jon Plybon scored 10 points.
Van Horn 62, Knob Noster 47
The Knob Noster Panthers lost to Van Horn Falcons 62-47 on Tuesday.
The Panthers led 12-9 after one quarter but the Falcons rallied to take the lead in the second and pulled away in the third.
Lucas Rincker had 21 points for Knob Noster. Chase Hagle added nine.
“We came out with great energy and effort in the first quarter which is always how you want to start out on the road,” said Knob Noster coach Dustin Fox. “I thought we competed just as hard in the second half but struggled to get good looks to fall.”
The Panthers (1–4) open up their home schedule Friday night against Eldorado Springs.
Lone Jack 36, Concordia 26
Concordia fell to Lone Jack 36-26 in the I-70 Conference Tournament on Tuesday.
Jordan Schluter led the Orioles with six points.
