The Sweet Springs Lady Greyhounds overcame a 10-point halftime deficit Saturday night to win the Leeton girls basketball tournament. The Lady Greyhounds beat Crest Ridge 53-45.


Sweet Springs sliced its deficit to four (34-30) after three quarters and outscored Crest Ridge 23-11 in the fourth.


The Lady Greyhounds (11-7) did most of its fourth-quarter damage at the free-throw line.


Christina Higgins, who scored a team-high 20 points, went 10 of 12 from the free-throw line the fourth.


Nicole Bright, who finished with 15 points, made 3 of 4 foul shots in the fourth. Mikalah Vogelsmeier went 2 for 2 in the fourth and tallied 12 points overall.


Ashleigh Bright and Nicole Bright had 11 rebounds  apiece for Sweet Springs.
