Orrick outscored Sweet Springs 14-8 in the fourth quarter to beat the Lady Greyhounds 37-31 in an I-70 Conference girls basketball game on Tuesday in Sweet Springs.


“(We) played great defense all night, but just weren’t as efficient on the offensive end,” said Sweet Springs coach Ben Hays.


Sweet Springs trailed 12-6 after one quarter but rallied to tie the game at 14 at halftime. It was still tied after three at 23 before Orrick reclaimed the lead in the fourth.


Christina Higgins led Sweet Springs with 13 points. Nicole Bright had six rebounds and three steals. Rebecca Tyler had six assists.


Madison Winters scored 21 points for Orrick.


Sweet Springs (15-8) will play at St. Paul Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
