The Pilot Grove Tigers settled for fourth place Friday night in the Slater boys basketball tournament, losing 67-60 to Marshall in the third-place game.
Marshall (8-9) took control early, outscoring the Tigers 23-7 in the first quarter. The Tigers (14-5) cut their deficit by two points (38-24) at halftime and took a big chunk out of the lead, outscoring Marshall 23-10 (48-47) in the third.
Marshall clinched the win in the fourth, outscoring the Tigers 19-13.
Colton Glenn scored a game-high 19 points for Pilot Grove. Kendall Kraus added 13 and Mason Schlotzhauer had 10.
Zach Bishop paced Marshall with 17 points.
