Members of the State Fair Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams were honored during the team banquet on Tuesday at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.
Lady Roadrunner Mia Wesley was honored with the Lady Roadrunner Award and coach Kevin Bucher announced the award would be renamed the Mia Wesley Award in recognition of her work ethic and leadership during her career at State Fair.
Freshman Lawre’ll Dobbins was recognized as Most Improved Player.
Players were recognized for being team leaders in statistical categories: Antoinette Taylor in points and field goal percentage; Adella Randle-El in assists, steals and 3-point percentage; and Apiphany Woods in free throw percentage.
Men’s coach Kevin Thomas honored Marcus Mondaine with the Hustle Award.
Players recognized for leading the team in statistical categories were Kenny Chery in points, 3-point percentage and steals; Joe Thomasson in assists; Charles “Mookie” Beard in field goal percentage; Jacob Williams in rebounds; and Ayo Ojo in blocks.
Williams and Taylor were presented with the Backbone of Health Fan Favorite Award, voted on by Roadrunner fans via Twitter.
Athletic director Darren Pannier and members of the SFCC Athletics Department staff presented outgoing SFCC president Marsha Drennon with a framed jersey in honor of her support of the department during her presidency.
