College baseball: Central Missouri 11, Washburn 1
The third-ranked Central Missouri baseball team used a five-run fifth inning Saturday to beat Washburn 11-1 to take two of three in the MIAA series.
The games were moved from Warrensburg to the St. Louis area because of the weather.
Travis Higgs (3-0) gave up one run on four hits with two walks and nine strikeouts in seven innings. Mark Biesma (1-2) was charged with the loss.
John Oropeza went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Mules, who improved to 17-3 overall and 14-2 in the MIAA. Leadoff batter Samuel Domingue went 3 for 5 with one run scored for Central Missouri.
