Smith-Cotton’s girls swimming team went 1-3 on Tuesday in a meet at Blue Springs South. The Lady Tigers fell to St. Joseph Central 176-76, lost to Marshall 147-82 and were defeated by the host school 231-50. Smith-Cotton picked up a 130-25 win over O’Hara.
Individually for Smith-Cotton, Ali Burkholder took second in the 100-yard backstroke, Burkholder took fourth in the 200-yard individual medley, Wendsday Thompson took sixth in the 1000-yard freestyle, Abby Monsees took sixth in the 500-yard freestyle, Monsees took eighth in the 200-yard freestyle, Katana Blankenship took 10th in the 100-yard backstroke and Thompson took 11th in the 50-yard freestyle.
