Victor Ronzon earned a spot on the all-conference team, and the Smith-Cotton Tigers placed third in the West Central Conference cross country meet on Monday in Clinton.
Ronzon finished 10th in 19 minutes, 17 seconds. Only the top 10 finishers made the all-conference team.
Warrensburg won the team championship with 15 points. St. Pius X was a distant second with 64, Smith-Cotton had 82 and Clinton was fourth with 88.
S-C’s other runners and their times on the 3.3-mile course: Andrew Mather 16th in 20:38; Chance Johnson 17th in 20:51; Stefan Weeks 18th in 20:52; and Michael Chernookiy 22nd in 21:02.
The Tigers were without No. 1 runner Chancey
The Lady Tigers only sent two runners to the conference meet because Jazmine Meyer and Kaitlyn Walters are injured.
Rachel Howieson was the Lady Tigers’ top finisher. She was 12th in 24:02. Katlyn Geotz was 17th in 25:28.
Smith-Cotton coach Matt Clark hopes to have all three injured players back for Saturday’s district meet at Jefferson City.
