The Warsaw Wildcats made 5 of 7 free throws down the stretch Saturday night to beat Southern Boone County 41-30 in a Tri-County Conference girls basketball game in Ashland.


The Wildcats (4-12, 1-2 Tri-County) led 15-2 after one quarter and 21-9 at halftime. Southern Boone sliced its deficit to 27-23 after three quarters.


Southern Boone tied the game with about 6 minutes left, but the Wildcats built a 6-point lead and won it at the free-throw line.


Hayley Spry paced Warsaw with 13 points, and Chelsea Murphy scored nine, all from the free-throw line.
