Smith-Cotton wrestlers placed fourth at the 12-team Truman Invitational  on Saturday in Independence.


The Tigers scored 131 points. Troy-Buchanan wonwith 283.5.


Smith-Cotton’s Petr Tsymbal took second place at 170 pounds with a 5-1 record. Jacob Weeks went 4-2 at 160 to take second.


At 132 pounds, Tanner Proctor took third with a 5-1 record. Caleb Hurley took third at 126 pounds with a record of 3-2.


Two junior varsity wrestlers won their weight classes with two others taking second and two taking third.


Jake McFail went 2-1 at 132 pounds and Bernardo Alejo went 5-0 at 170 pounds to claim first place.


Francisco Matacua took second place in the 132-pound weight class and Gage Stewart was second at 182 pounds. Mezo Albadany was third at 126 and Alex Carr was third at 160.


Smith-Cotton will be back in action at the Raytown South tournament on Friday and Saturday in Raytown.
