Despite not competing in five weight classes, the Knob Noster wrestling team took seventh out of 26 teams at the Battle of Lexington Holiday Tournament Friday and Saturday.

Derek Morgan won the 220 pound weight class with a 7-0 record. He beat two wrestlers who placed at state last season including Maysville’s Josh Riggs who Morgan pinned in the championship match.

At 106 pounds, Taylor Rogalski had a 6-1 record to claim second place, losing in the final to defending state champion Quintin Lewis of Carrollton.

Two Knob Noster wrestlers claimed third place. Troy Kyser had a 6-1 record at 138 pounds and Nick Vansall who went 7-1 at 182 pounds.

Knob Noster 113 pounder Brandon Nevils placed fourth.
