Second-seeded Mineral Area College built an 18-point lead in the second half and third-seeded State Fair Community College never recovered.
The Cardinals beat State Fair 75-58 Friday night in the semifinals of the Region 16 men’s basketball tournament at Hillsboro.
Mineral Area turned the Roadrunners’ 15 turnovers into 18 points and had four players score in double figures.
Shaquille Boga paced the Cardinals with 21 points, Jay Raulston had 14, and Jake White and Denzel Reed had 13 apiece.
Only two State Fair players scored in double figures. Kenny Chery scored 21 points, and Joe Thomasson had 17.
The Cardinals, who outrebounded State Fair 47-40, led 37-25 at halftime.
The Roadrunners finished the season 20-9.
Mineral Area (23-7) will face fourth-seeded Moberly Area (22-8) in the championship game at 7 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson College.
Moberly Area upset top-seeded Missouri State-West Plains 78-65 in the other semifinal.
