Zach Morrison scored off of the opening tip and the rout was on as the Smith-Cotton Junior High eighth-grade basketball team beat Bueker Middle School, of Marshall, 57-11 on Wednesday night at the junior high.
The Tigers held a 13-2 lead at the end of the first quarter after Gavin Jones sank a half-court 3-pointer. They used a smothering press to reel off 15-straight points to start the second quarter on the way to a 32-7 halftime edge.
