St. Paul Lutheran scored four runs in the first inning and held on to beat Sacred Heart 6-4 in a nonconference baseball game on Wednesday at Centennial Park.

Sacred Heart had two men on in the seventh but St. Paul was able to work out of the jam.

Caleb Tanguay had a hit and an RBI for Sacred Heart.

Mason Kelchner started the game and went five innings for Gremlins. Chance Spangler came on in relief and pitched two shutout innings.

The Gremlins (0-2) will host Smithton at 5 p.m. Thursday.
