Caleb Tanguay singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning on Friday, and the Sedalia Post 642 Travelers beat Hays (Kan.) 2-1 in  the Blue Springs wood bat tournament.

The Travelers (27-20) finished 3-1 in their pool and will continue on in bracket play as a wild card. The Lee’s Summit Outlaws, also at 3-1, won the pool with a 1-0 victory over St. Charles Central on Friday.

Austin Bullerd earned the victory, allowing one run on four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts in seven innings.

The Travelers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Chance McMullen led off with a single and moved to second on a passed ball. Darion Lawrence bunted him to third, and Ian Dotson hit a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead.

Hays tied the score in the second.
