Legion baseball: Travelers, juniors begin season this weekend
The Sedalia American Legion Post 642 Travelers baseball team begins play Saturday in the Hi-Boy tournament in Independence.
The Travelers were scheduled to face Blue Springs-Fike on Monday night but that doubleheader was postponed until July 12 because most of Fike’s players are members of the Blue Springs South state playoff team.
The Travelers’ home opener against Oak Grove set for 6 p.m. today has been postponed because of a scheduling conflict involving Oak Grove’s players.
The Travelers will begin play in the Hi-Boy tournament at the Independence Athletic Complex at noon Saturday when they will face Fike. They will meet the Blue Springs A’s at 5 p.m.
On Sunday, Post 642 will face the Lee’s Summit Outlaws at 3:30 p.m. and Oak Grove at 6 p.m.
The championship game is set for 5 p.m. Monday.
