Smith-Cotton jumped out to a 6-0 lead and beat Warrensburg 12-4 in a West Central Conference baseball game Monday on the University of Central Missouri campus at Warrensburg.
Smith-Cotton scored four runs in the first and one each in the second and fourth. Warrensburg rallied with four in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 6-4, but Smith-Cotton added insurance runs with two in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Austin Bullerd got the win on the mound.
Ian Dotson drove in four runs, including two in the first inning on a single to left to bring home Chance McMullin and Steven Bradbury to open the scoring. Dalton Christian and Bradbury each drove in two.
Smith-Cotton (7-11, 3-3 WCC) will face Hickman at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Columbia.
