The Smith-Cotton girls swimming team didn’t score a point Saturday in the COMO Invitational in Columbia.
However, the Lady Tigers recorded 15 personal records at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
“The girls swam pretty good,” S-C coach Jerry Tankersley said. “It was real tough competition, but we improved times across the board.”
Blue Springs South (268) held off Notre Dame de Sion (266) and Park Hill South (253) for the team championship.
Six S-C swimmers posted personal records in two events.
Ali Bankovich finished the 50 freestyle in 33.47 secpmds, beating her previous-best time of 34 seconds. Bankovich had a time of 1 minute, 12.2 seconds in the 100 freestyle, topping her previous-best time of 1:18.61.
Katana Blankenship posted a time of 1:41.84 seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke, topping her previous-best 1:46.89. She finished the 50 freestyle in 41.39, beating her previous top time of 41.79.
Brittany Borke had a time of 34.58 in the 50 freestyle. Her personal record was 34.68.
Abby Monsees finished the 500 freestyle in 6:40.57, beating her personal-best time of 7 minutes. She posted a 2:30.5 in the 200 freestyle. Her personal record was 2:30.99.
Wendsday Thompson finished the 50 freestyle in 29.92, topping her previous-best time of 30.52. She tallied a time of 1:06.05 in the 100 freestyle. Her personal record was 1:06.27.
Mariah Voitl logged a personal-record 3:02.65 in the 200 freestyle, beating her previous top time of 3:35.4. She completed the 100 backstroke in 1:28.32, beating her previous-best 1:33.5.
Rachel Howieson finished the 100 breaststroke in a personal-record 1:38.09. Her top time was 1:39.78.
Two S-C relay teams secured personal-best times.
Borke, Thompson, Burkholder and Monsees completed the 200 medley relay in 2:26.46, besting their previous-recond time of 2:31.7.
Bankovich, Voitl, Blankenship and Howieson had a 5:35.47 in the 400 freestyle relay. Their top time was 5:44.84.
