Jacob Schowengerdt scored his 1,000th career point as Sweet Springs beat Orrick 88-50 in an I-70 Conference boys basketball game on Tuesday at Sweet Springs.


Schowengerdt, a junior, scored 29 points hitting 11 of 15 from the field including 6 of 8 from 3-point range. As a team, Sweet Springs shot 13 of 25 from 3-point range.


Schowengerdt also had six assists.


Jeffery Hall had 16 points, Spencer Thomas added 12 and Derrick Nelson scored 10.


Sweet Springs led 20-7 after one quarter and outscored Orrick 32-17 in the second to take a 52-24 lead at halftime.


Sweet Springs (17-7) will play at St. Paul Lutheran at 7 p.m. Friday.
