The Missouri State Fair will be twice the fun for auto racing fans.

After closing the fair with one night of racing, the State Fair has added a second night of racing.

Street stocks, the United Late Models Association and the second night of the Impact Sign & Lighting Co. Modified Shootout Series are scheduled to take the track on Thursday night.

The Midwest Late Model Racing Association, Winged Outlaw Warriors and the final round of the modifieds shootout will be Sunday night.

The modifieds shootout began June 24.

Dustin Boney (100 points) won that race and holds a five-point lead over Chad Lyle (95) and an eight-point advantage over Jim Moody (92).

Terry Schultz is third with 89 points, Evan Hubert fourth with 86, Curt Rackers fifth with 83, Kevin Blackburn seventh with 80, Matt Dotson eighth with 78, Darrell Turner ninth with 76 and Donnie Dannar 10th with 74.

The winner will receive $500, second place $400, third place $300, fourth place $200 and fifth through 10th places $100.

Only drivers who compete in all three races will be eligible for the payout.

The Winged Outlaw Warriors will make their third and final trip to Sedalia this season on Sunday.

Brian Brown will go for the season sweep at the local speedway.

Brown, whose car is owned by Sedalians Tim and Gina Doogs, is coming off a third-place finish at the Brodix 360 Tournament of Champions on Aug. 3 at Knoxville (Iowa) Speedway.

Three-time series champion Randy Martin leads the points race by four over Sedalia’s Jonathan Cornell.

Curtis Evans is third, 202 points behind Martin; Kyle Bellm is fourth, 248 points off the lead; and Tony Crank, of Sedalia, is fifth, 250 points back.

Jesse Hockett, who has raced in only five of the series’ 13 races this season, leads the pack with three wins.

The MLRA is making its first trip to Sedalia this season.

Terry Phillips, of  Springfield, leads the series and holds a 38-point lead over John Anderson, of Omaha, Neb.

Phillips is the 19-year-old series’ all-time race winner. He has 90 career wins, 56 more than second-place Al Purkey.

The series features racing teams from five states.

Centerview’s Jason Bodenhamer, who has enjoyed quite a bit of success at the Sedalia track over the years, leads the ULMA points race by 44 over Jon Binning, 56 over James Rutledge and  60 over Mike Ryun.

The ULMA regularly races at Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg,  at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland and at Valley Speedway in Bates City. Thursday’s race will not count in the series’ points standings.
