Prep girls basketball: Sacred Heart 60, Green Ridge 35
Sacred Heart got one step closer to a perfect Kaysinger Conference regular season, knocking off Green Ridge 60-35 on Thursday on the road.
The Gremlins held quarter leads of 10-8, 27-13 and 45-25.
Johannah Hohne tallied a season-best 23 points, on the strength of six 3-pointers, and Erica Stone added 11 for the Gremlins (13-4, 7-0).
Clare Chamberlin had 18 to pace Green Ridge (7-11, 3-4).
“I thought we caused a lot of turnovers tonight and definitely rebounded the ball well after the shot,” Sacred Heart coach Shawn Bestgen said. “We started sluggish but got going in the second quarter. Johannah hit her first 3 and Kaitlyn Sunnarborg hit a 3 and that broke game open a bit. I was pleased with the shooting, especially being on the road.”
