Prep boys basketball: Sacred Heart 58, Northwest 29

Top-seeded Sacred Heart won its 39th consecutive game against league foes, beating No. 9 Northwest 58-29 on Saturday in the quarterfinal round of the Kaysinger Conference tournament at the Davis Center.

Sacred Heart improved to 18-1 on the season.

The Gremlins held quarter leads of 17-9, 37-13 and 55-23.

Jared Dey notched 17 points, Caleb Morrison added 16 and Stefan Cox tallied 11 for Sacred Heart.

For the Mustangs, Cortlen Austin had 11 and Quincy Wicker added 10.

Sacred Heart will face Green Ridge at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinal round.

Northwest will play on Thursday in the consolation semifinals.
