College men's basketball: Iowa Western 74, State Fair 70
Despite a game-high 26 points from Alfonzo Houston, the State Fair Roadrunners dropped their third-straight game Tuesday in a 74-70 defeat to Iowa Western (17-6) in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Kenny Chery added 17 points and a team-high seven boards and Michael Bradley chipped in six rebounds for the Roadrunners (12-10), who trailed 31-29 at the half and shot just 6 of 26 from downtown and 44 percent from the floor for the game.
“We were down four, down three at the end and we just couldn’t get over the hump,” said State Fair coach Kevin Thomas, whose team lost 82-74 to the Rievers earlier in the year at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center.
