Participants in the annual Sedalia Half-Marathon in 2008 pound their way through the Southwest Village subdivision before heading out of the city limits. The Half-Marathon is one of many long-distances races held in the area each year.
Popularity of running has grown significantly
Kent Lang, of Sedalia, won the open division of the annual Firecracker Mile race in 2006 at the fairgrounds. Lang has more than 100 race wins to his credit.
