RACING NOTEBOOK: World of Outlaws to return to Sedalia

The sprint-car series will race here June 16.
Donny Schatz, who won the previous race in Sedalia in 2008, won a tight three-man race last season to win the series points championship. He beat Jason Meyers by 19 points and Joey Saldana by 70.
The series raced on the half-mile dirt track 12 times during the past 10 years, according to RacingOne.com, but did not hold an event there in 2009.
Steve Kinser won four of those races with local favorite Danny Lasoski, of Dover, winning three, according to the Web site.
LA Raceway
LA Raceway has added an A-modified class for this summer, bringing the track’s regular program to five divisions.
The others are B-modifieds, hobby stocks, street stocks and 305 sprints.
The rural La Monte track has set dates for six special programs.
The United States Modified Tour Series will race April 9. The Winged Outlaw Warriors will run April 10, May 7, June 11, July 2 and July 30.
The weekly racing series is set to begin April 16 and run through Aug. 27.
Central Missouri Speedway
The American Sprint Car Series and Winged Outlaw Warriors will visit Central Missouri Speedway twice next year.
The open-wheel cars, as well as 600cc micro-midget cars, will race May 7 and Sept. 10.
The Ozark Mountain Midget Series will race on the rural Warrensburg track May 28 and July 2.
The 2010 season opens May 1 and ends with championship night Sept. 11.
The track will again host special Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day weekend races with big payouts.
