Smith-Cotton’s junior varsity football team edged Grain Valley 16-14 on Monday.

In the first quarter, Grain Valley scored on a 3-yard rushing touchdown but missed 2-point conversion.

In the second quarter, Smith-Cotton’s Jacob Weeks scored on a three-yard touchdown run, and the Tigers went ahead with a 2-point conversion pass from Dominic Zerilli to Henry Contreras.

In the third quarter, the Eagles scored on a rushing touchdown and added the 2-point conversion.

In the final frame, Contreras scored a four-yard rushing touchdown, and his 2-point conversion run was good.
