Prep baseball: Clinton 4, Smith-Cotton 3

The Clinton Cardinals baseball team scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday to beat the Smith-Cotton Tigers 4-3 in Clinton.

The Tigers (4-15, 3-3 West Central Conference) scored three runs in the third to take a 3-1 lead.

Dalton Christian pitched into the seventh inning and was charged with the loss.

Chase Cunningham, who has committed to play baseball for Allen (Kan.) Community College, secured the win, allowing three runs and striking out 11 in seven innings.

Ross, who has committed to play baseball at Missouri State, led Clinton with two hits and two RBIs.

Jeremy Williams doubled and had one RBI for the Tigers.
