After qualifying two wrestlers for the 82nd MSHSAA Wrestling Championships, the Smith-Cotton Tigers team earned seven all-conference nods.
The Tigers, who finished 4-1 in the West Central Conference, garnered three first-teamers and four second-teamers to trail only WCC champion Warrensburg’s 10 selections.
State qualifier Dakota Proctor (182 pounds), who was primed for a medal at state before suffering a left ankle sprain in the quarterfinals, was joined by Billy Garrigus (145) and Jacob Weeks (152) on the first team.
Representing the Tigers on the second team were Luke Archibeque (113), Tanner Proctor (120), Zach Wooldridge (126) and state qualifier Matt Kowalski (170), who went 0-2 in Columbia.
Smith-Cotton was followed by Center (3-2) and Clinton (0-5) with four selections and O’Hara (2-3) and St. Pius X (1-4) with two.
