Smith-Cotton (2-0, 1-0) won its West Central Conference opener on Friday, beating St. Pius X 6-3 in Kansas City.

Singles winners were Bailey Smith (8-6), Leah Carr (8-8, 7-5), Taylor Smith (8-6), Kathleen Matz (8-5) and Alyssa Schoen (8-2). Ashlee Slack lost 8-6.
