Prep baseball: Smith-Cotton 11, Republic 5

Charles Chadwick hit two home runs and Smith-Cotton snapped an eight-game losing streak with an 11-5 nonconference win over Republic on Thursday at Liberty Park Stadium.

The Tigers (5-17) trailed 2-0 after one inning, tied the score at 2 after three innings, led 4-2 after four, led 8-3 after five and led 11-5 after six.

Tyler Slawson picked up the win on the hill.

Republic tallied 11 hits and Smith-Cotton had eight. The Tigers played error-free defense while Republic had four errors.
