Rounduup: Smithton splits pair of baseball games

The Tigers scored runs in all seven innings Tuesday to earn a 16-12 win at Prairie Home. The win came a day after Smithton dropped a 12-6 game at home against Pilot Grove.
Austin Anderson went 3-for-5 with three runs scored while Sean Smith went 1-for-4 with three RBIs and Clint Wehrman went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs in Tuesday’s win.
Zack Price earned the win for the Tigers (4-10). Price allowed seven hits and six walks while striking out seven in 5 1/3 innings.
Nick Haller paced Pilot Grove on Monday, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple. Trey Schibi earned the win, striking out 11.
Smith went 2-for-3 with four RBIs to pace Smithton. Smith took the loss on the hill, but struck out seven.
Wellington 9, Concordia 5
A pair of two-run home runs helped Wellington past Concordia on Thursday. Chris Seitz went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer while Joey Mulheron also had a two-run homer.
Drew Smith had a two-run homer for Concordia and went 2-for-4. Seth Smith was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
