Bothwell Family Medicine welcomes new physician

As a new Sedalia resident, Dr. Lisa Wadowski has been most impressed by two features.

“The hiking trails and the people are fabulous,” she said. “Everyone has been so welcoming and kind.”

In late October, Wadowski started her medical career at Bothwell Family Medicine Associates at 3401 W. 10th Street. She joins Dr. Robert Frederickson, Dr. Jeffrey Sharp and Dr. Julie Cahill. The clinic provides care for people of all ages and focuses on preventative services and treatment of recurring and serious illnesses for the entire family.

Wadowski said she chose family medicine because she enjoys working with patients of all ages.

“It is such a privilege to care for patients at birth, throughout their childhood and into adulthood,” she said. “Experiencing each one of their milestones and life challenges is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.”

Bothwell Clinic Operations Vice President Keith Morrow said that Wadowski is another great addition to Bothwell’s team of family medicine providers.

“We have been focusing recently on growing the number of our family providers,” he said. “Whether it’s a new physician or a new nurse practitioner, we know that family care in this area is a need and plays a vital role in keeping families healthy. Dr. Wadowski will be a wonderful addition to the clinic and Bothwell’s team, as well as to the Sedalia community.”

Wadowski said focusing on a holistic approach to treating patients is an especially important part of what she does as a physician.

“When a doctor treats a patient, they are not simply treating a disease,” she said. “They are treating the person who has the disease, which means medicine is not a one size fits all approach. It involves a lot of compassion and understanding.”

Wadowski received her undergraduate degree at Arizona State University in 2012. She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix in 2016 and completed her residency at the University of Missouri in 2020.

She and her fiancé, Greg, recently moved to Sedalia, and when they are not working, they can be found at the gym, traveling or doing anything outdoors.

“I love to cook, exercise, travel, read, and spend time with friends and family,” she said. “I am so excited to become a part of this wonderful community.”
