Warsaw man hurt in crash

A Warsaw man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 10:35 p.m. Friday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Scott M. Winters, 18, was driving east on Benton House Avenue, south of North Dam Access Road, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and impacted an embankment and a tree.

Winters, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.

Woman arrested for DWI

A Warsaw woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 12:30 a.m. Saturday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Rayni E. Simons, 19, was driving north on state Route 7, just south of state Route KK, when her vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail. It returned to the road, then back off the left side of the road and into the ditch before coming to a rest.

Simons, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in Clinton with minor injuries.

Simons was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the road and no seat belt.

Clinton man arrested for DWI

A Clinton man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 2:30 a.m. Saturday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Payton Parks, 46, was driving north on state Route 13, south of state Route N, when he failed to negotiate a curve and his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road. It struck a Missouri Department of Transportation sign and a fence.

Parks, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in Clinton with minor injuries.

Parks was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the road.

Warsaw man hurt in accident

A Warsaw man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 9:35 a.m. Saturday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Anthony J. Nuncio, 41, was driving west on state Route BB, west of Hidden Valley Avenue, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Nuncio was taken to Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in Clinton by ambulance with minor injuries.

Reports indicate it is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.

KC man arrested in Johnson for DWI

A Kansas City man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 4:35 p.m. Sunday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Charles E. Nelson, 43, was driving west on Northeast 801 Road, south of U.S. Route 50, when his vehicle became stuck in the ditch. The vehicle returned to the road and exited the opposite side of the road, striking a shed.

Nelson, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries.

Nelson was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated-drugs, driving with a revoked license and careless and imprudent driving.

Pedestrian killed in Henry crash

An Independence man was killed in an accident at 3:55 a.m. Monday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a vehicle was parked on the shoulder of state Route M, west of the state Route 13 North Junction, with its driver’s side door open. The door was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Edward F. Williams, 58, of Kansas City. Williams’ vehicle then struck Raymond W. Conners, 49, who was standing outside the vehicle in the roadway.

Conners was pronounced dead at the scene by Henry County Coroner Cain Sisk.

Woman seriously injured in accident

A Lee’s Summit woman suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 2:40 p.m. Monday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Mallory P. Kroencke, 21, was driving east on U.S. Route 50 at Northwest 1251 Road when she failed to slow for traffic and struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle driven by Logan T. Long, 28, of Pleasant Hill.

Kroencke, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for her injuries.
