Heber Hunt Elementary fourth grade teacher Dana Foster is the recipient of the Superintendent’s Bell Ringer Award for November.
The monthly award is a way for Superintendent Steve Triplett to honor Sedalia 200 staff members who put the district’s mission statement into action and those who display exemplary effort in celebrating student success. Winners are selected from nominations made by staff members and administrators.
Foster’s nominator wrote: “Dana is an amazing educator; she is always on top of it and knows exactly what her students need to be successful. Every time I've seen her teach, her students are engaged and excited. She is up, moving, and teaching from the first minute to the end of the day. She has a new teacher on her team this year and has been very helpful to that teacher
– explaining, in detail, what needs to be taught. They also work very hard to find fun, engaging activities to do with their students to ensure that they fully understand the concepts.”
Heber Hunt Principal Angie Meyer said, “Ms. Foster is a quiet leader. One of her best qualities is that she is a champion for both students and staff. She is always willing to collaborate with and guide other staff members. She wants her students to succeed and is willing to put in extra time to achieve success. She is a valued member of the Heber Hunt staff.”
Triplett said, “Ms. Foster has been one of the district’s shining stars for years so it is good to know that her peers also see what she brings every day for the students and staff at Heber Hunt. She deserves every bit of the recognition she will get as the November Bell Ringer recipient.”
Other nominees for November were Renee Pinkleton, Whittier High; Kathy O’Dell, Heather Sparks, Jeannine Satterwhite, Ann Weber and Wade Norton, S-C High; Ali Burkholder and Lindsay Henry, Heber Hunt Elementary; Sarah Walker, Parkview Elementary; Jennifer Lentz, Sedalia Middle School; Hannah Brick, Washington Elementary; Madeline Kempton, instructional technology specialist; and Casey Smith, the district’s nurse health coordinator.
