Lutheran Women attend Spring Rally

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League of the Sedalia Zone conducted its Spring Rally with the theme "New Life Springs Forth " at Faith Lutheran Church on April 13 in Warsaw. It was hosted by Peace Lutheran Church, Camdenton and Faith Lutheran, Warsaw. There were 48 in attendance.

The opening prayer and Bible study, based on Revelation 21, was led by Pastor Carl Wendorff, of Faith Lutheran in Warsaw. During the business meeting, Margaret Wilshusen, of St. John's, Lutheran insole Camp, was elected Zone VP and Doris Viets, also from St. John's, was elected Zone Treasurer. 

Jaccy Heinlein, of Peace Lutheran of Camdenton, introduced the guest speaker, Karen Kuhlmann Averitt, author of the book “I Don’t Want to Have the Prayer, A Messy Pastor’s Kid Does Her Memory Work.” She gave a talk about her life growing up as the daughter of a pastor. The closing devotion was given by Pastor Richard Anderegg, of Peace Lutheran.  

A love offering of $480 was collected for the Concordia Seminary Food Bank in St. Louis. A total of 518 items were also collected and will be delivered to the food bank to support the students of the Seminary. Mite offerings totaled $550.16. Since the Fall Rally in October, the Sedalia Zone of the LWML has collected $3,781.98 in "mites." In its 75 years of its existence, the Lutheran Women in Mission have donated more than $1 million to missions in the U.S. and around the world through the mite program.

The Fall Rally will be Oct. 2 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp and will be hosted by Holy Cross, St. John’s and Mt. Hulda, all of Cole Camp, and St. Paul, of Stover. 

The Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) is an auxiliary of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
