Aug. 25
2:32 a.m.: Donald C. Cunningham, 32, of Smithton, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to assist with an accident near West Broadway Boulevard and South Ohio Avenue. The subject attempted to leave the area on foot and was identified by witnesses. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the driver was intoxicated and had a revoked license. The driver refused to provide a breath sample and a search warrant was obtained for a blood draw, which was conducted. The suspect was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was found in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe. A request for charges of driving while intoxicated - persistent offender, driving with a revoked license, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia have been submitted to the prosecutor.
Aug. 27
11:02 p.m.: Edgar Cuc Cucul, 33, of unknown residence, was arrested after a traffic stop in the area of West 16th Street and South Osage Avenue for driving on the wrong side of the roadway. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated, driving without a valid license, forgery, and identity theft. He was taken to the SPD then the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of forgery, driving while intoxicated, driving without a license, and identity theft.
Aug. 28
1:17 a.m.: Esteban Lozano Jr., 38, of Brownsville, Texas, was arrested after a traffic stop at West Broadway Boulevard and Winchester Drive for failing to maintain a lane and swerving. It was determined the driver was intoxicated and he was arrested and transported to the SPD where he provided a breath sample and was issued a traffic ticket for driving while intoxicated.
10:42 p.m.: Darnell Johnson, 37, of Kansas City, was arrested after a traffic stop at West Fourth Street and South Kentucky Avenue for moving violations and improper registration. It was determined the driver was intoxicated. Johnson was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, transported to the SPD, and then released.
Aug. 29
12:40 a.m.: Manuel Iowanes, 50, of the 27000 block of Worth Road, was arrested after a traffic stop in the area of East 16th Street and South Center Avenue for improper lane use. The driver was found to have a suspended license, was arrested, transported to the SPD, fingerprinted and released.
12:49 a.m.: Lacey R. Battles, 37, of the 1100 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched in reference to a disturbance. The caller said he had been assaulted by his girlfriend. During the course of the investigation, it was determined Battles was the primary physical aggressor. She was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of third-degree domestic assault.
1:41 a.m.: Nathan Joseph Elmlinger, 33, of the 2600 block of Goodwill Chapel Road, was arrested after a traffic stop on North Broadway Boulevard for a non-working brake light. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Elmlinger was arrested, transported to the SPD, and then to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold. A request for a charge of driving while intoxicated has been submitted to the prosecutor.
1:38 p.m.: Kevin Lawrence Lentz Butler, 34, of the 400 block of South Babcock Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop in the area of Broadway Boulevard and Missouri Avenue for moving violations and a non-working headlight. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. He was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, transported to the SPD, then transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked for driving while intoxicated.
2:14 p.m.: Christopher Dean Klein, 37, of the 1000 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after an officer responded to a disturbance in progress. It was determined an assault had taken place and one subject was arrested. Klein was taken to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and put on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of third-degree domestic assault.
2:15 p.m.: Paul A. Vogel, 46, of the 1200 block of East 16th Street, was arrested after an officer checked a business in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a subject with five felony failure to appear warrants out of Barry County. Contact was made with the suspect, which confirmed the warrants. Vogel was also in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and methamphetamine. He was arrested for five counts of failure to appear, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
11:44 p.m.: Makaa Ruben, 32, of the 200 block of West Sixth Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched in reference to a disturbance. The caller said a man known to her hit her in the head. Ruben was located and arrested. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. A request for a charge of second-degree domestic assault has been submitted to the prosecutor.
11:59 p.m.: Daniel N. Schnack, 51, of the 700 block of East 24th Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South Vermont Avenue for a report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they located the male suspect in the kitchen. He was taken into custody without incident. Schnack was arrested for first-degree burglary and six counts of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
Incidents
Aug. 27
2:01 p.m.: An officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a car near West 24th Street and South Kentucky Avenue for failing to signal. The vehicle failed to yield and continued south on South Kentucky Avenue at a high rate of speed. No pursuit was initiated due to traffic conditions and the time of day.
6:33 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a reported theft incident in the 2100 block of South Harrison Avenue. When officers arrived, the incident was changed to identity theft. The suspect is unknown at this time. The suspect was using the victim's identity to access bank accounts. Statement forms and bank transactions were collected for investigation.
Aug. 28
11:18 a.m.: An officer responded to the 1600 block of West Third Street in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Dispatch advised that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Kansas City, Missouri. The vehicle was recovered and there is no suspect information at this time.
1:41 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room in reference to a domestic assault with a knife that occurred in the 500 block of North Stewart Avenue at approximately 10:30 a.m. The victim had a severe laceration to their arm. State charges of second-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action are being referred to the prosecutor.
8:06 p.m.: Officers were stopped at West Main Street and South Missouri Avenue in reference to a theft. The complainant stated his bike and phone were stolen. The value of the items is $500.
8:45 p.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby regarding stolen license plates. The plates were on a vehicle that had previously been stolen and recovered.
Aug. 29
2:34 a.m.: Officers responded to the 700 block of West Fourth Street in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that a juvenile stole her wallet. The juvenile has been located and referred to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.
3:12 a.m.: Officers stopped a car in the area of South Park Avenue and West Third Street for speeding. Items of contraband were found in the vehicle and seized for destruction.
6:22 a.m.: An officer was performing a check of the Sedalia Middle School when he noticed an unoccupied vehicle parked on the lot. The plate came back to a subject out of Columbia. The windows were down on the vehicle and looking inside the officer observed a large hunting survival knife sitting on the passenger seat as well as a smaller hunting knife on the floorboard. Further inspection revealed drug paraphernalia. Due to the dangerous weapons and drug paraphernalia being located on school grounds, the vehicle was towed from the lot. During an inventory search, more drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. At the time of the report, the owner had not been located.
4:04 p.m.: An officer was dispatched on a theft report to the 300 block of West Third Street. The victim stated someone had used his credit card to make three purchases at Walmart. The total amount of money taken from his account was $841.
5:28 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to Albright Court in reference to a burglary. The victim said a man known to her broke into her apartment. The suspect was gone upon arrival. No arrests have been made at this time.
2:59 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of South Grand Avenue for a report of theft. The victim said a hammock chair valued at $200 was stolen out of his yard.
7:45 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a report of property damage in the 300 block of East Cooper Street. The caller said an unknown subject had thrown a mailbox through his window on the back of his house. The suspect then ran off. The damage was around $600.
8:06 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of West Fourth Street after a reported home invasion. Contact was made with a subject with an altered mental status who is in possession of a firearm. The firearm was seized for safekeeping and a mental health referral will be completed.
9:22 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1500 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a missing person. The complainant stated a female juvenile had not returned home. The juvenile was entered into that MULES system as missing.

7:02 a.m.: Jose Herrera Aguilar, of Sedalia, was arrested for driving with a revoked license, driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway in the area of Highway 765 and Missouri Avenue.
Incidents
Aug. 27
6 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2500 block of East 38th Street to meet with Pettis County Children's Division for an investigation involving a juvenile and an adult of the home. The investigation continues.
Aug. 28
6 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 2850 South New York Avenue on a report of theft from a travel trailer. The reporting person stated someone entered his trailer and took several items.

1:01 a.m.: Jakobe D. Walker, 17, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated-drugs, minor in possession of alcohol, an equipment violation, and no seat belt. He was released on scene.
Aug. 29
1:33 a.m.: Troy D. Edwards, 43, of Holden, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to dim headlights, and no license plate light. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold.
