This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 10

5:33 p.m.: Michael J. Tackett, 42, of the 1300 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near West Main Street and South Limit Avenue for a moving violation. The driver had a revoked driver's license and was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released.

July 13

9:34 a.m.: Paul Quinton Hackney II, 20, of Warrensburg, was arrested after officers responded to West 16th Street and Thompson Boulevard for a disturbance. Contact was made with a female who reported a male suspect had assaulted her. The suspect was located, arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for a 24-hour hold.

July 14

3:44 a.m.: Dillon James Pettis, 24, of Hughesville, was arrested after a traffic stop in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a license violation. A K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle and it was searched. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located and the driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

July 9

1:32 p.m.: Detectives found two church vans damaged at the Sedalia Tabernacle, 23299 Highway B. More than $1,500 damage was caused to the two vans and the catalytic converter was cut off of one. The suspects are unknown at this time

July 12

11:16 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of East 16th Street in reference to a theft. The caller said someone had stolen a security camera valued at $25 from the back of her house. No arrests have been made.

1:45 p.m.: An officer took a report of property damage over the phone that occurred on June 16  in the 600 block of South Missouri Avenue. The victim said she had loaned her vehicle to a friend and her friend's ex-girlfriend came over and damaged it. The victim said there was more than $2,400 worth of damage to her vehicle. A request for the charge of property damage has been submitted to the prosecutor.

July 13

10:48 a.m.: A police officer took a report in the SPD of forgery and identity theft that occurred in the 500 block of East Second Street. The subject is known and charges have been submitted to the Pettis County prosecutor. 

9:34 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to an accident that occurred at East Broadway Boulevard and South Engineer Avenue. When they arrived, the driver of the vehicle had fled on foot. The driver was not located and no arrests have been made.

July 14

5:02 a.m.: Dennis Kelch, of Columbia, was arrested for felony driving with a revoked license-second or third offense after a traffic stop in the area of Grand Avenue and 20th Street for displaying the wrong plates. 

Incidents

July 1

2:32 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a black Ford Fusion in the area of Tiger Pride Boulevard and South 65 Highway for a traffic offense. The driver's license was suspended and the driver was issued a citation and released from the scene.

Arrests

July 13

4:10 p.m.: Ian R. Adams, 25, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released. 

July 14

3:19 a.m.: Ryan A. Fate, 44, of Osage Beach, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving. Fate was transported to the Morgan County Jail and released.
